General Distributing Celebrates 75 Years In 2023

General Distributing Company, a fourth-generation, family-owned business, will celebrate its 75th Anniversary this year. A wholesale distributor of gas, equipment, and supplies, GENDCO has served their customers and communities since 1948. This milestone marks a history of humble beginnings for a company that has grown tremendously over the last 75 years and has locations in Great Falls, Helena, Butte, Bozeman, Billings, and Glendive.

General Distributing plans to commemorate its 75th Anniversary with its Service and Support campaign. Throughout the year, General Distributing aims to donate to local, non-profit organizations that share the company’s mission and core value of empowering and helping people succeed and grow. Each month one organization will be chosen from each community where they are located.

In addition to the Service and Support campaign, General Distributing will hold open houses in September at all of their locations to celebrate and thank their loyal customers.

Monthly Local Organization Donation Recipients

January 2023, Helena: Florence Crittenton Family Services
Florence Crittenton in Helena is an organization that has worked with young families for over a century. Once a “home for unwed mothers,” Florence Crittenton Family Services has adapted into a trauma-responsive, relationship-based organization that provides family-centered support during critical times. Through a comprehensive continuum of services, their programs include mental health services, substance use recovery, parenting education, childcare and preschool, and access to community support.

Florence Crittenton has been chosen as our first recipient because of its mission to “engage and empower children, young adults, and young families to thrive and build productive lives.” Strong families are the core and fabric of healthy communities and productive society. We all benefit from a culture that promotes, defends, and empowers family life.

The donation will be directed to Project Sunshine. This $7.5 million campaign’s goal is to create a campus where all the services for the families will be in one, integrated space. The new campus will allow the organization to better care for and serve more families in their time of need.
